Awesome Green Beans
serves 2-4
Ingredients
1/2 T butter
1 shallot, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, thinly sliced into strips
1 lb. green beans
1/2 T butter
1.5 cups white wine
Equipment
spatula
stick frying pan (as opposed to non-stick)
The focus is off, but an awesome action shot. |
1. Melt 1/2 T butter over medium heat. When it starts to foam, add shallot and cook for 2 minutes.
2. Add the garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
3. Add the carrots and cook for 1 minute.
4. Add the green beans and cook for 1 minute.
5. Add the additional butter, and let it cook for 2 minutes.
6. Slowly add the wine, about 1/4 cup at a time, making sure to get all of the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Allow the wine to mostly evaporate before adding more.
7. Once the wine is fully added and reduced, turn the heat off and season to taste with salt, pepper and more garlic.
Love your action shot. How did you do that? You must have 3 hands. :-) Recipe sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteImpressive tossing skills but even more impressive easy, colourful and healthy recipe!
ReplyDeletePaula: I had four hands for this shot, as I've got a kitchen helper.
ReplyDeleteTrissalicious: Thanks. For an easy dinner, I'd probably serve it with baked chicken and rice (either microwaved or stovetop, depending on the number of pots I had and the size of my range).
